Cupcake Salute
I’ve been meaning to post all week but between the packing and the unpacking and the repacking, I’ve kept putting it off. Also because I’m scared.
Not scared of of the blog but scared of the trip, if it’s the right choice to go away, am I going to be safe? Will I be able to cope by myself? And all those other thoughts that burrow into your head, make a nest and then have awful baby thoughts that are just as bad.
And I’m done, I’ve had enough, I refuse to entertain these thoughts any longer. They don’t help me and they don’t help anyone else.
Come Wednesday I am picking up my over sized bag and I am marching my self (well driving for a while first but then marching I promise) up to that check in desk and I am checking in for my flight.
I am going to read awesome zombie books (they make me feel better) watch awesome action movies (nothing like the end of the world to put your problems in perspective) and remember that not everyone has the opportunity to fly overseas and have a wonderful holiday, and to be thankful that I am one of the people that has that chance.
I am going to rock up in London tired and so excited I could burst and I am going to have a wonderful holiday if I have to have a panic attack a minute for the whole damn trip to do it.
Because I will not let fear stop me.
So to everyone out there who is facing your fear boldly or sneaking up behind it and smacking over the head I salute you with the only thing that can always make you feel better. Cupcakes!
Tomato Soup anyone?
This weekend I played around with a bowl of tomato soup and some quickly assembled props. You may remember that at the beginning of the year I posted some 2012 Photography Goals (you can see here) my first goal was to experiment with food photography.
Nikon D300s 50mm, ISO 200, F5.6, 1/200s
It took me 2 hours to get a shot I was happy with.
The biggest problem I had was lighting the whole scene evenly, eventually I was using a big open window a reflector and two lamps.
I had a lot of fun playing around with light and soup and convincing a certain cat that she doesn’t eat tomato soup. But by the end of the day, there was no way I could have eaten the soup.
The War Memorial from an iPhone
So my last post was all about me photographing the War Memorial, all the shots were on my Nikon and I was spending a lot of time composting and trying to ‘see’ the picture I wanted before I took it.
Today is about Canberra there’s a couple of shots at the War Memorial but only a couple most of today’s photos are quick snaps as we were running around having fun. All from my iPhone’s point of view which is tons of fun.
I hope you enjoy it.

My Toms, not really important but I wore them while we were running around and I Love them.
That’s it have a great day everyone !
I say Tomato, you say …
Tomatoes are one of my very favorite things.
I love how when you bite in to tiny Chery Tomatoes the juice and seeds shoot into your mouth or onto the table, ceiling, floor you get the idea but that’s what makes them so much fun you never know whats going to happen.
